Chatsworth Guided Ride
This ride is beautiful and totally on the bucket list...
Laura & Percy will guide you all through fields, woodland, bridle paths, Monsal Trail and through Edensor village.
All riders must be confident and competent in large open spaces at all 3 gaits, walk, trot & canter.
This circular ride will take you and your horse over varied terrain and varied speeds. In places paths can be stony and rocky.
Depending on the conditions on foot will determine the speed. There are some lovely spots for long trots & canters.
Please note the ride does lead you through open spaces. All horses and riders must be competent and confident.
Along the route, bridlepaths are stoney in places, we would recommend hoof boots if your horse is barefoot. You will also come across gates along the route.
On arrival, there isn't a mounting block, please bring along steps.
The ride is roughly 9 miles and depending on speed we have allowed 3 - 3 1/2 hours.
Meet time is 10am, to be on board for 10.30am.
Meeting and trailer parking What3words coordinates are - ///mandolin.dizziness.anchovies. This will lead you to the Bakewell Agricultural Centre, please drive around the back of the centre to park. Great parking, there is no mounting block, please bring along your own steps. Large, concrete area which can accommodate larger vehicles.
In peak times the car park can get rather busy, please arrive in plenty of time.
The car park is big enough for lorries too.
There is a charge of £6.20 for parking, payment is via card or cash.
There will almost certainly be livestock, walkers and bikes.
