🐴 About the Ride
This circular guided ride takes young riders through:
• Open fields
• Woodland tracks
• Bridleways
• Sections of the Monsal Trail
• The picturesque village of Edensor
It’s a varied and rewarding ride, with opportunities for longer trots and canters where ground conditions allow.
This is not a beginner ride — riders must feel confident in open spaces and capable of riding independently within a group.
⚠️ Rider & Pony Requirements
This ride is suitable for confident, competent young riders.
✔ Confident at walk, trot & canter
✔ Comfortable riding in open countryside
✔ Ponies must be sensible in groups
✔ Ponies must cope with varied terrain
❌ Not suitable for nervous or inexperienced combinations
Along the route we may encounter:
• Livestock
• Walkers
• Cyclists
• Gates (assistance provided where needed)
Some sections can be stony — hoof boots are recommended for barefoot ponies.
⚠️ Important Parent & Rider Information
Parents/guardians remain fully responsible for their child throughout the event.
By booking onto this ride, parents acknowledge that horse riding is a risk sport and Unthank Equestrian, lead riders and organisers accept no liability for accidents, injury, loss or damage during the ride.
All riders must:
✔ Stay together as a group at all times
✔ Listen carefully and follow all instructions given by the lead rider
✔ Ride respectfully and safely within the group
✔ Be capable of controlling their horse independently in open spaces
For safety reasons, riders who do not follow instructions or whose behaviour may affect the safety of the group may be asked to leave the ride.

• Suitable for trailers and lorries
• No mounting block — please bring your own steps
