Join us for an unforgettable 3-day horse riding camp exploring the Peak District, including a stunning ride through the Chatsworth Estate and two beautiful guided rides directly from our farm.

This camp is designed for confident riders who enjoy a faster paced ride, with opportunities for walk, trot and canter across varied terrain.

With only 4 riders in the group, this camp offers a relaxed, friendly atmosphere while exploring some of the most beautiful riding routes in Derbyshire.

Perfect for solo riders, friends or small groups wanting a sociable riding adventure.

Camping: £290 per rider
Caravan Stay: £340 per rider

A £100 deposit secures your place, with the remaining balance due 6 weeks before the camp.

🗓 Camp Itinerary

Day 1 – Saturday 23rd May

Chatsworth Estate Guided Ride

Meet at Bakewell Agricultural Centre

⏰ Meet time: 10:00am

Parking details:

• Large hard standing car park
• Plenty of space for trailers and lorries
• Parking fee £6.20

Please bring:

• Mounting steps (no mounting block available)
• Tools to pick up after your horse

This stunning circular ride takes in:

• Open fields
• Woodland tracks
• Bridleways
• Views across the Chatsworth Estate

The ride will include walk, trot and canter, depending on conditions.

Once the ride finishes, riders will travel to Unthank Hall Farm to settle into camp.

Approximately 30 minutes drive from Chatsworth.

On arrival you can:

• Set up your tent, lorry or trailer
• Or settle into one of our on-site touring caravans

Your horse will be placed in a secure individual paddock with running water.

In the evening you may wish to visit the lovely Royal Oak Pub in Millthorpe, which is within walking distance of the farm.

Day 2 – Sunday 24th May

Peak District Moorland Ride

⏰ Meet time: 10:00am

Leave directly from the farm for a 2–3 hour guided ride across the Peak District moors.

Terrain includes:

• Rolling moorland
• Grassy tracks
• Stony paths
• Hills and open countryside

Expect:

• Walk, trot and canter
• Some road work
• Gates along the route
• Possible encounters with livestock, walkers and cyclists

This ride is faster paced and suited to confident riders comfortable riding in open spaces.

Day 3 – Monday 25th May

Scenic Countryside Ride

⏰ Meet time: 10:00am

A relaxed 1½ hour ride leaving from the farm before heading home.

Highlights include:

• Quiet country lanes
• Beautiful bridleways
• A lovely water crossing
• Stunning Peak District scenery

🏕 Accommodation Options

Camping – £290 per rider

Includes:

• Camping pitch (tent / lorry / trailer)
• Horse paddock for the weekend
• All 3 guided rides

Caravan – £340 per rider

Stay in one of our two on-site touring caravans

• One caravan sleeps 3 people
• One caravan sleeps 2 people

Please note caravans are rustic and basic.

Unthank Hall Farm is a working Peak District farm offering simple but comfortable facilities.

Facilities include:

• Hot running shower
• Eco compost toilet
• Shared kitchen area
• Running water
• Secure individual horse paddocks

• Hay can be provided for your horse and ordered prior to arrival
• Secure individual paddocks with running water are provided
• Please ensure you bring mounting steps and tools to clear up after your horse for the Chatsworth ride
