Join us at Unthank Equestrian for a unique three-day camp designed to help riders and horses develop confidence, partnership and understanding while enjoying some fantastic riding in the Peak District.

Hosted by Katy Thompson, Equine Sports Massage & Rehabilitation Therapist, this exclusive camp combines guided riding, practical ridden exercises and expert support in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

With only six riders per camp, you’ll enjoy plenty of individual attention throughout the weekend.

Horse accommodation is included. Rider accommodation is booked separately.

Meet Katy

Katy Thompson is an Equine Sports Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist with extensive experience supporting horses in work, young horses and those returning to exercise. Throughout the camp, Katy will guide all rides and sessions, helping riders better understand their horse’s movement, balance and way of going.

Camp Itinerary

Day One – Chatsworth Adventure

• 🏰 Guided ride around the stunning Chatsworth Estate
• 🦌 Opportunities to spot deer
• 🌳 Woodland tracks and open parkland
• 🐎 Ride with a small, supportive group

Meet at Chatsworth at 10am before returning to Unthank Hall Farm to settle in and begin camp.

• 🌙 Early evening: Equine Sports Massage & Assessment appointments with Katy (for riders who have booked the optional add-on)

Day Two – Ride, Learn & Develop

• 🌿 Guided ride directly from Unthank Hall Farm — with exclusive access to private farm rides and bridleways
• 🐎 Explore local bridleways and countryside routes
• ⭐ Polework and ridden exercises
• ⭐ Understanding your horse’s movement and way of going
• ⭐ Practical rider support throughout the day
• 🥪 Packed lunch included

Day Three – Partnership & Performance

• 🌿 Final guided ride from Unthank Hall Farm — with exclusive access to private farm rides and bridleways

Riding Information

• 🐎 Rides range from approximately 1.5 to 3.5 hours in duration
• 🌿 Mixed terrain including woodland tracks, bridleways, open countryside, moorland and estate riding
• ⛰ Challenging terrain in places, including hills, uneven ground and varied surfaces
• 💨 Opportunities for walk, trot and canter where conditions allow
• 🏰 Stunning Peak District and Chatsworth scenery
• 🦌 Opportunities to spot local wildlife, including deer around Chatsworth Estate
• 🌿 Exclusive access to private farm rides and bridleways at Unthank Hall Farm

Your camp place includes two nights horse accommodation.

Arrival Information

• 🏰 On the first day of camp, riders meet at Chatsworth at 10am for the guided ride
• 🐎 After the ride, head to Unthank Hall Farm to unload, settle your horse and get set up for the weekend
• 📧 Full joining instructions including Chatsworth meeting point details will be sent before arrival

Please note: access to the camping field is via a farm track which can be uneven in places. Take care when arriving with caravans, trailers and horseboxes.
