Join us at Unthank Equestrian for a unique three-day camp designed to help riders and horses develop confidence, partnership and understanding while enjoying some fantastic riding in the Peak District.

Hosted by Katy Thompson, Equine Sports Massage & Rehabilitation Therapist, this exclusive camp combines guided riding, practical ridden exercises and expert support in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

With only six riders per camp, you'll enjoy plenty of individual attention throughout the weekend.

Horse accommodation is included. Rider accommodation is included in your camp price.

Meet Katy

Katy Thompson is an Equine Sports Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist with extensive experience supporting horses in work, young horses and those returning to exercise. Throughout the camp, Katy will guide all rides and sessions, helping riders better understand their horse's movement, balance and way of going.

Camp Itinerary

Day One – Chatsworth Adventure

Meet at Chatsworth at 10am before returning to Unthank Hall Farm to settle in and begin camp.

Day Two – Ride, Learn & Develop

🌿 Guided ride directly from Unthank Hall Farm with exclusive use of the farm ride

Riding Information

🐎 Rides range from approximately 1.5 to 3.5 hours in duration
🌿 Mixed terrain including woodland tracks, bridleways, open countryside, moorland and estate riding
⛰ Challenging terrain in places, including hills, uneven ground and varied surfaces
💨 Opportunities for walk, trot and canter where conditions allow

Riders and horses should be fit enough to comfortably enjoy three consecutive days of riding over varied terrain. This camp is best suited to confident riders looking for adventure, learning opportunities and a fantastic weekend away with their horse.

The camping pitch accommodates up to 4 guests. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.

🚐 On-Site Caravan — included
The caravan sleeps 2 guests. Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead at all times.

🐕 Dogs are welcome at Unthank Hall Farm. Please ensure your dog is kept on a lead at all times, particularly around horses and other animals on the farm.

💳 Payment & Booking

A non-refundable deposit of £100 is taken at checkout to secure your place. This will be deducted from your total camp price.

Your remaining balance will be invoiced directly by Charlotte after booking. Please ensure your balance is paid by the following dates:

🌿 August camp (21–23 Aug) — balance due 10th July
🌿 September camp (25–27 Sep) — balance due 14th August

Balances not paid by the due date may result in your place being released. The deposit and balance are non-refundable if cancelled unless your place is filled.

Arrival Information

🏰 On the first day of camp, riders meet at Chatsworth at 10am for the guided ride
🐎 After the ride, head to Unthank Hall Farm to unload, settle your horse and get set up for the weekend

Please note: access to the camping field is via a farm track which can be uneven in places. Take care when arriving with caravans, trailers and horseboxes.

Do I need to come with a group of 6?
Not at all — 6 is simply the maximum we take to keep things small and personal. You're welcome to come on your own or with friends and you'll ride alongside other lovely riders who've booked onto the same date. It's a really sociable weekend!

Is the price per person?
Yes — all prices are per person per camp.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, well-behaved dogs are very welcome! Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times, particularly around horses and other animals on the farm.

What does the caravan sleep?
The on-site caravan sleeps 2 guests.

How many people does the camping pitch accommodate?
The camping pitch accommodates up to 4 guests.
